Publishing Blackbox
An overview of the publishing process, what editors do and how we make decisions, and concrete tips on how you can optimize manuscripts for submission to a journal.

AI Tools in Research & Publishing
A rudimentary introduction to AI tools for writing, focusing on LLMs, as well as some free tools for research organizations. Current accepted policies for AI in research and writing are also covered.

About the speaker

Stefan Hildebrandt is Editor-in-Chief of Annalen der Physik and physica status solidi a/b as well as Senior Manager in the physics and materials science group. He has been with Wiley-VCH in Berlin since 1999. Previously he studied and worked at the Universities of Halle (Germany) (Ph.D., 1988), Moscow and Cork (Ireland). He has experience as a solid state physicist with main background in semiconductor and surface physics. His tasks include journal development, management of the peer-review editor team in Berlin, the organization of peer review and special issues as well as article acquisition for the journals. This involved the launch and strategic development of several new journals in the Wiley Advanced family, including Advanced Quantum Technologies and the open-access titles Advanced Electronic Materials and Advanced Physics Research.
