What is Successful Doctoral Supervision?
The purpose is to inspire supervisors to apply a variety of strategies and tools to make supervision an enjoyable and effective process. The workshop is a kick starter for supervisors who are looking for concrete input and ideas in less time.

The workshop outlines research-based advice on how supervisors can collaborate with their doctoral candidates to ensure a highly effective supervision process. At the workshop, you will be introduced to concrete tools for:

  • building positive work relationships with your candidates
  • communicating effectively in ways that support research independence.

About the lecturer

Dr. Gitte Wichmann-Hansen, Professor at University of Agder, Senior researcher at Aarhus University, Denmark, and owner of the consultancy “Academic Supervision”. Gitte Wichmann-Hansen is an established and publishing researcher within the field of supervision. She has 20+ years of experience with running high quality workshops for supervisors at all career stages across European Universities.
