This workshop helps you adopt a proactive approach to planning and developing your career. It will familiarize you with strategies for finding suitable positions and exploring attractive career options in the non-academic labour market, and it will deepen your understanding of your skill set and your job-related interests and needs.
Topics covered include:
- Research careers vs. non-academic careers: commonalities and differences
- My professional and personal competencies: the basis for finding suitable positions
- Typical, and less typical, non-academic jobs and career paths for PhDs and postdocs
- Strategies, methods and tools for finding suitable positions
- Reflecting upon my career goals and planning my next steps
In addition, there is room for other relevant questions and concerns you may have.
