Prof. Dr. Gross has been awarded the Berni J. Alder CECAM Prize 2016 for their "ground-breaking contributions to the modern field of electronic structure calculations".

Prof. Dr. E.K.U. Gross, director of the Theory Department, has been awarded - jointly with Prof. David Ceperley, University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign - the Berni J. Alder CECAM Prize 2016 for their "ground-breaking contributions to the modern field of electronic structure calculations".

The prize is awarded every three years for outstanding contributions to the field of computer simulations in condensed matter physics/chemistry, statistical physics and physical chemistry. It is the most prestigious European prize in this field of research. The prize money is 5000 EUR.
