2D Materials In Action: Energy Technologies
2D Materials in Action Symposium
- Beginn: 20.10.2025
- Ende: 21.10.2025
- Ort: Dresden
This symposium is again inspired by the United Nations Development Programme and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In 2025, we focus on SDG #7: Affordable and Clean Energy. In order to achieve this goal by 2030, it is crucial to transition to renewable energy sources like solar, wind, and thermal power, while ensuring equitable energy access for all communities and also increasing energy efficiency. One possible solution for improving energy efficiency are 2D materials. Join us in Dresden and let‘s unlock the transformative power of 2D materials for an energy-secure future.
The unique properties of 2D materials enable a faster and more widespread adoption of clean energy solutions. This is mainly reached by advancing energy storage, conversion, transport systems, and hydrogen storage - and enhancing the performance of batteries, fuel cells and solar cells. In addition, 2D materials can enable the development of future safe and sustainable energy devices like aqueous batteries.
Currently, the world struggles to expand its clean energy infrastructure. At the same time, current technology like artificial intelligence and data processing, result in an unprecedented demand for energy. 2D materials will help ensure that clean, efficient, and affordable energy is available to all, simultaneously supporting global economic growth and environmental sustainability.
The 2D Materials in Action: Energy Technologies symposium is a two-day, by-invitation-only event. It brings together leading innovators, industry partners, start-ups, and scientists. Together they explore the latest advancements and the transformative potential of 2D materials in energy storage, conversion, transport systems, and hydrogen storage. With our exclusive gathering of experts, this symposium will delve into the frontiers of research, commercialization, and industry applications in the field of 2D materials. It showcases our commitment to driving breakthroughs in energy technologies and sustainable solutions. Participants will have the unique opportunity to exchange insights, explore novel applications, and build connections that can accelerate the adoption of 2D materials in addressing the world’s pressing energy challenges.
