Interaction between geometrical and spin chiralities in 3D spintronic devices
Research report (imported) 2024 - Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics
Summary
Our study shows an interaction between the geometric chirality and the chirality of the magnetic domain walls. We discovered that the motion of a chiral magnetic domain wall in three-dimensional (3D) twisted magnetic ribbons is influenced by the geometric twist of the ribbon. It is asymmetric for domain walls with opposite configuration and for bands with opposite chirality. We utilised an advanced multi-photon lithography (MPL) technique to fabricate 3D twisted magnetic tapes and investigate the current-driven motion of the chiral domain walls.
