“Transport Phenomena at the Crossroads of Superconductivity, Magnetism, and Spin-Orbit Coupling”

Biography
Sebastian Bergeret earned his Ph.D. from Ruhr University Bochum (Germany) in 2002 under the supervision of K. B. Efetov and A. F. Volkov. He subsequently held a Ramón y Cajal research position at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. In 2009, he founded the Mesoscopic Physics Group at the Materials Physics Center (San Sebastián), where he currently serves as a Research Professor. His scientific contributions and current research span pioneering work on superconducting spintronics, mesoscopic physics, unconventional superconductivity, and radiation detectors. In 2021, he was awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Award by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
