Beyond! Materials Design and Discovery

December 11-14, 2016
Castle Ringberg, Kreuth

| The workshop will focus on the design and discovery of novel materials with unique properties that could make possible advanced technologies, especially those concerned with information storage and processing, in the long-term. | The workshop will include both theoretical and experimental methods to accelerate the discovery of such materials, as well as the properties of the materials themselves.

Venue

The Workshop will take place in the Ringberg Castle south on the Lake Tegernsee, south of Munich. Ringberg Castle is a small conference / workshop center that belongs to the Max Planck Society and is, not only a beautiful and unusual building with an interesting history, but an ideal location for a discussion meeting.

The workshop will be limited to about 45 participants to encourage interaction and discussion, and will be highly interdisciplinary since Materials Design and Discovery requires the interweaving of many distinct and emerging scientific and technological disciplines.
