"This is way more interesting than school."

Pupils from Saaleschule Halle visited our Institute as part of their science project days.

A highlight in June, just before the summer break, was the visit by the advanced physics course from Saaleschule Halle. As part of their natural science project days, the students and teachers had the opportunity to visit the MaxPlanck Institute of Microstructure Physics.

PhD students from various departments guided visitors through the laboratories and were open to questions. A lively exchange between our staff members and the students resulted in engaging conversations throughout the day. Both the students and the teachers were impressed by the work, research, and laboratories at the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics.

At various stations, the students were able to carry out small experiments themselves and were thrilled to be able to see and experience the connection between theory and practice.

It was particularly exciting to see the large experimental hall and to be able to carry out small experiments in the glove box. That's much more interesting than a day at school.
