Prof. Dr. Stuart Parkin held an online lecture within the framework of  “Kharkiv Quantum Seminar” together with the German-Ukrainian CoE “PLASMA-SPIN-ENERGY”

On May 27, 2025 director of the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics, Prof. Dr. Stuart Parkin held an online lecture on the topic “Spintronics for massive data storage – past, present and future” within the framework of  “Kharkiv Quantum Seminar” together with the German-Ukrainian CoE “PLASMA-SPIN-ENERGY”.

The aims of the seminar were to bring together Ukrainian and foreign specialists in Quantum Physics, to sustain motivation and enthusiasm of Ukrainian physicists, to motivate and educate the young Ukrainian students and researchers. 

In this lecture, Stuart Parkin introduced a new spintronic technology - Magnetic Racetrack Memory and the features of new atomic engineering materials that make spintronics technologies possible.

Organizers of the event: B.I. Verkin Institute of Low Temperature Physics and Technology of the NAS of Ukraine (Dr. Sergiy Shevchenko) and the National Science Center “Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology” (Dr. Andriy Sotnikov).
